Irish Dreams Do Come True!

 Dreams Do Come True……Sean Coleman moves to Boston to chase his Hockey Dream!

Members of the Irish American Hockey Association first met Sean Coleman as a bright eyed 9 year old Irish kid just learning to skate as Ireland’s ONLY rink opened in Dundalk Ireland in 2006.

Picture this if you can; Ireland: 2006 and the very first ice hockey rink in your country opens up in your home town.

Boston Bruins Alumni & Irish American Hockey host fundraiser in Somerville

An Irish American Hockey Thank You!

 Thanks to all who showed up to support the Collins Family in their time of need at our recent fundraiser Hockey Game with the Boston Bruins Alumni Team.

 Through the generosity of Friends of Irish American Hockey Association as well as friends of the Boston Bruins Alumni Team, we were able to raise just over $22,500.00, of which 100% of all the proceeds for the evening event went directly to the Collins Family as the rebound from losing all they had in the horrific house fire.

Irish American Hockey Sponsors Belfast Youth Tournament

Irish American Hockey Association help ensure a successful youth hockey tournament in Belfast Ice Dome, Ireland. On Saturday, fourteen youth hockey teams from across Ireland, descended on Belfast Ice Dome to take part in the very first Belfast Ice Dome Community cup. The players travelled from Dublin, Athlone, Dundalk, Dundonald and Sandy Row, Belfast. The teams taking part were from Dublin Ducks, Dublin Junior Flyers, Athlone Junior Hawks, Dundalk Warriors, Junior Belfast Giants and Belfast Ice Dome All Stars. Wow, what an 8th annual Irish American Classic!

Over 1000 players and guests attended the 8th annul Irish American Ice Hockey Classic at the Murphy Rink in South Boston this past week-end and all who attended enjoyed the best Irish Hockey Classic to date.

The tournament kicked off on Thursday afternoon with a host of State and local dignitaries including the DCR commissioner, newly re-elected Boston City Councilor Michael Flaherty and a host of other State Representatives and Senators announcing a 1.8M renovation of the Murphy Rink set to begin immediately after the conclusion of the Irish Ice Hockey Classic.
