OUR MISSION -

Great News for hockey everywhere. Hockey in Ireland has arrived. With the recent opening of the first ice hockey rink in the Republic of Ireland in Dundalk in January of 2007, the Irish AMERICAN Hockey Association is in the midst of organizing a major equipment drive to introduce the game of hockey and outfit the children of Ireland with quality new and used hockey equipment. Once this endevour is underway, our goal will be to collect equipment that will be provided to the children of Ireland, free of charge, in order to promote the game throughout Ireland. When this endevour is established and implemented, our goal will be assist those who are looking to discover the great game of ice hockey while eliminating the high cost of the initial equipment cost that makes makes the game prohibitive to many who wish to enjoy the bonds that ice hockey helps develop.

Members of the Irish AMERICAN Hockey Association and their attorneys recently traveled to Killarney, Ireland and met with the local and county baord members, community and civic leaders as well as commissioners of the various boards in order to assist Killarney in their vision of creating hockey opportunities in the SouthWest region of Ireland.

The Irish American Hockey Association is working closely with John Breen, the town manager of the city of Killarney, John Pierse, the Kerry Development Patrnershiop LTD, as well as other officials in County Kerry, to assist in the vision of developing the Killarney International Sports Complex. This state of the art 85,000 square foot multi olympic size ice surface (2 sheets) arena complete with a 110 x 220 synthetic turf field capable of hosting international indoor soccer and lacrosse tournaments as well as international ice hockey tournaments year round. The Irish American Hockey Association is also working with a number of other city and goverment leaders throughout Ireland, in order to facilitate the vision of creating additional hockey opportunities for Irish children throughout the Free Republic of Ireland. One of the main objectives of the IAIHA is to provide the children of Ireland with every opportunity to enjoy the great game of hockey as we have in the US and Canada.
